    BD Ripper (3D Plus) V For Vendetta (2006) BD-to-MKV Crash - 8.0.8.5

    Hi everyone:

I'm at my wit's end with V for Vendetta.

I have attempted the rip to MKV of this Blu Ray disc on 2 separate machines. I've tried a full extraction of the BD to my hard drive, and then a conversion to MKV on both machines, and also crash right near the end each time.

I have also attempted the rip on more than one copy of the disc (both store-bought.) Most times it got to about 87% and crashed. Today -- twice -- it got to 100% and crashed. I believe that this was the disc giving me the finger.

I can only assume that TPTB put something on the disc to try to prevent ripping it, although I haven't found any other threads on this particular disc.

My rip settings are as follows:

    Track 3 selected
    1280 X 720 res
TrueHD audio track (HD Audio removed.) (also have attempted with just 3/5.1 AC3 Audtio track, English)
    Forced Subtitles Only
Fixed Bitrate of 5031, no split
    Framerate same as source
    1 Pass
    Subpicture - Extract to idx/subfile

Audio bitrate and channel same as source.

I believe this is the relevant portion of my internal log:

    Hi

For your problems, could you please use the other Blu-ray DVDs to see if this is a universal problem, or just for this one?

I have tries with 2 different store-bought copies of the blu ray disc with the same result

        Hi SMcVey
You say that you tried this on 2 computers... are they both laptops.. and do you have any way of monitoring your temps.

My second machine is a desktop core2duo, 8 gigs of ram, brand new bs-d drive. I should be able to pull the logs from it as well. Note that I also have had no issues with other disc s on this machine, and like on the laptop the ripping crashes between 85 and 100% each time
