DVD Ripper Now real problems with Audio/Video Sync.

Since updating to 8.0.8.5 on 19th March 2011 - The Audio/Sync problem that only used to exist for me for certain Blu Ray Ripping now extends to DVDs. The iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV profile now result in an Audio/Video sync delay of anything up to 8 seconds.

I re-ripped a copy of "The Return of the King" which I knew worked fine as I have had that file for over 3 years using all 3 profiles above there is an Audio/Video sync delay. So I tested the profile again on other titles which resulted in the same problem "JFK, Die Hard, Pirates of the Caribbean 1, The Two Towers" to name but 4.

It's really disappointing that a once excellent program now has major flaws.

    Regards

    Hans

    Hi hans302,

Please try to install the latest beta Qt version 8.0.8.7 at to convert again and see if you still encounter the same Audio/Video Sync issue.

        Hi hans302
Please download MediaInfo found here http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en and scan your video source that you have ripped to your HDD to find the frame rate, and on the Ripper main page click the edit button near the bottom right, and make sure that you choose the same frame rate as your original source and try again.

I have already done this and made sure the frame rate is the same. 25fps in most cases. This problem still exists.

            Hi hans302
Did you select "same as source" or choose 25fps in the drop down?
Tests that I have done you have to choose 25fps and not same as source.

I have also seen where others have gone back to 8073 to correct A/V sync problems, you can find it here just remember that older version are not supported.
You may have move than one version of 8 installed if you want, latest version for newer encryptions and an older for your conversions.

To do this read this post

            Hope this helps

Thanks for the info - I have sent the Log file to the DVDfab Team, let's hope they come back with a solution.

BTW - I do select 25FPS rather than Same As Source , and the problem still exists.

I will roll back to 8073 now.
