    DVD Ripper Incomplete AVI

    I am running into a problem with the DVD ripper v8.0.9.2QT that seemed to be around awhile ago. I found some previous threads on problems ripping to AVI and the length being reported correctly but not playing to the full length. This seems to be the problem that I am having. I didn't have this problem with the version before 8.0.9.2QT. (I had different issues)
    When using 8.0.8.5, the AVI would play the correct length.
    I have tried a few different profilles and different DVD's but have the same issue.
    Any ideas for things to try?
    Thanks

    Hi slacker,

    I just convert with profile(pvp.avi.mpeg4.mp3.Archos.605), the result avi file did play the full length.

    Here are my steps:
    1) Open Common Settings->General->A/V Codec, set all the video decoder options and video encoder options as Software;
    2) Load movie disc into DVD Ripper- PVP;
    3) choose main title, click on "Title start/end settings" button to choose one short chapter (playtime 07:55);
    4) select profile Archos.605, set encoding method as 1-pass, start to convert;
    5) play the avi file with MPC-HC or VLC, play time :07:55 exactly same as the chapter I chose.

    Please follow these steps to try again.

    Sincerely,

      Hi Sunny,
      Thanks for your response.
      I don't have a problem with small run times.
      It seems to be at a certain time that things stop. Definitely longer than 8 minutes. This also is very similar to a problem that Tscottemail had reported seeing in version 8.0.8.9.

      I can get a complete copy in another format than AVI.

        Hi slacker,

        Please wait for the next Qt version released, which will include some improved profile, please try later.

        Sincerely,

          Hi Sunny,
          I tried one of the non 2Gb profiles for AVI and that seemed to work ok.
          Not sure what the problem is as I am under 2Gb in file size. So maybe that number is something other than what I think it is.
          But I was able to get it to work.
          Thanks for the help
