DVD Ripper DVD Ripper Stops while converting to MP4

    Hi,
I want to be able to play a movie on my Android tablet so I just purchased DVD Ripper everytime I'm trying to convert the files to an MP4 the program stops . DVD Ripper starts fine.....and it allows me to drag the IFO files to over....and everything goes begins converting fine until around the 20% mark and then it stops .

The information I captured below says PathPlayer is disabled but that is not correct because the option Always Enable Pathplayer is selected.

    Any help would be appreciated.

DVD Ripper Stops while converting to MP4

Still no luck ripping the file to to an MP4. I tried the MP4 option and Generic option for MP4 and it's still hanging at the 19.65% mark. I also notice that the Encoding FPS that started at zero and counts upwards at the beginning starts to count downward until it reaches zero again. At that point nothing happens any longer and I have to click cancel.

    Any help would be apprciated.

You are trying to rip a copy with no protection(s) on it so PathPlayer automatically is disabled. It's really anybody's guess when you are using backup copies as the source, use the original for more consistent results.

Maybe I'm just using the wrong settings? Lots of options available to rip for Ipads, Ipods, Zune, PSP, XBox, etc...but I'm looking to rip it to an Android tablet. so what would I want to convert the movie to...an MP4 or a different format?

If MP is correct...do I use the MP4 option under DVD Ripper and then under Profile select Generic MP4.h264.aac or do I select Generic under DVD Ripper and then select Generic MP4.h264.aac?

What you really have to look for is:
            (a) container (format) your player (one that you have on your tablet) will play, e.g. MP4, AVI, MKV, etc.
            (b) codec your player can play, e.g. h264, xvid, dvix, etc.
            (c) resolution your tablet's screen has / max. resolution your tablet can afford
            (d) is there any limitations in bitrate
            (e) what audio format your tablet can deal with.
When answers are known, you can figure best format for your conversions. Ideally, if your tablet can chew on it, I would go with:
MKV container, h264 codec, audiocopy (HD Audio removed), 2500 Kbps bitrate (minimum), 720i/p resolution minimum. Again, if your tablet can afford this, you can also play these files on your TV @ home with great picture quality.

The supported formats of the Toshiba Thrive tablet are MPEG-4, WAVE, H.26, Ogg Vorbis, MP3, AAC+, MIDI, H.264, AAC, Adobe® Flash, WMA, AMR-WB, ACC+ Enhanced.

So I guess MP4 is what I will need to use use...but it leads me back to the same question I had before. When I use the MP4 option and MP4.h264.aac in DVD Ripper it stops at around the 20% mark. I have the same issue when I select Generic option and select Generic MP4.h264.aac.

What steps do I need to follow to convert a DVD file or DVD to play on this tablet??

Okay...so I've asked for assistance and haven't received any that could beconstrued as being very helpful.

Is it possible that DVDFab basically does not support ripping to android tablets?? If so, I should have been told of such when I initially posted the issues I was having with the DVD Ripper not working on the trial version and the Toshiba Thrive. (I brought up the issue that my trial version expired well before the full 30 days ).

However, instead of assisting with the software problem or asking pertinent question that could lead to a satisfied customer, moderator CBR929 was quick to point out that the trial version had lasted 3 weeks (21 days) and not 7 days like I had written...thereby completely ignoring the fact that in either case 30 days had not transpired. Seems moderator CBR929 was more interested in trying to find fault with my timeline than helping with identifying whether DVD Ripper and my Android tablet were compatible.

After being chastised and told if I liked DVDFab so much, to pay for it and support its improvement....and in trying to do the right thing, (because I am a previous customer) I PURCHASED DVD Ripper for $50 and now have had the same issues as I did before with the trial version.

I just need to know if your product supports android tablets and if so...why the MP4 option always freezes on my Windows 7 64bit quad core processor. I've tried almost every option in DVD Ripper from IPAD to IPOD to Generic to Video Decoder options DXVA and Software...you name it I tried it and although some can be ripped...they do not work on the Toshiba Thrive OR the Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1. If no can help or your products do not support android tablets, there are other companies out there that do.

Of course I'd rather just have this product work for the device I have so hopefully someone can just help me. However, if this doesn't occur, I am requesting a full refund for this product. My refund request is basically because DVDFAB violated its own refund policy of not providing a 30 day trial.
We don't accept refund request because our products are shareware, that means you need try it before you buy it. We provide our customers 30 days FULL function and FREE use of our products, you can try them out to see if you are satisfied with them.

Please let me know how to go about obtainin g a refund.

                  Hi Lostboy1457,
The first thing is that making sure about the result of DVD ripper to MP4. In my test, it is OK whether the source is a DVD disc or an iso in HD. Pease let us know whether it's the problem of the single disc by trying another discs. You'd better set "Software" as codec as it's more stable. If it's un-successful, please post your internal log file.
                  Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the response terry5. Tried ripping a different DVD on two more occasions with different settings and nothing happened each time. And I changed the codec to software and nothing helped.

Are you trying to encode directly from the optical disk?

I've tried ripping it with the actual DVD dic....I've tried ripping it from IFO files and also tried ripping it with a copy of a DVD that I made with DVDFAb...and all had the same results - nothing.

Isn't it possioble that this software just may not support android devices (except the Droid X)?

Just tried it again - different movie - same results. After about 5 minutes of ripping, instead of continuing to count upwards the encoding FPS starts to count downward until it reaches zero and then everything stops.

Don't think so. I've been using it for my HTC Legend which is an Android Device.

I'll set up a test again now and report back later.

Isn't it possioble that this software just may not support android devices (except the Droid X)?
