BD Ripper (3D Plus) Rips the image but not the sound

Hi. I've been using 8085 for a while now and have been happy with the ripping blu-rays to M2TS, which I'm able to stream to my Pannie with HD image quality and 5.1 surround.

However, after recently updating to: 8092Qt, 8098Qt, and 8106QtBeta, whilst the image is decoding successfully, the sound isn't. For some reason, the sound is not decoding in 5.1.

I've tested each file in Classic Media Player in which it plays stereo, in Windows Media Player, which doesn't have any sound - as also with Cyberlink PDVD 11, and via streaming to my Pannie, which plays a garbled sound.

I have reinstalled 8085, which continues to decode successfully, with the exception of one video, stating the the ACSs - I think it said that - had expired (Centurion), whatever that meant.

Anyone experiencing this? Or does anyone have an answer/solution?

    Thanks

        Hi mescott
What my friend is asking is to download MediaInfo found here http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en and post the information for the processed movies you are having trouble with.

You may also try to set all options to software and try again, to do this please Open Fab click the Click the Green at top right corner of the DVDFab screen, and open Common Settings > General >A/V Codec, put a check in Disable all GPU codes, and also uncheck Enable Lightning-Recoding restart Fab and try again.

        Hope this helps

Thank you mescott, this is exactly the issue I am having when I posted "M2TS DTS Sounds like Static". I have not research further but I believe I was able to process dolby digital but forsure I have not been able to get sound processing DTS.

              Hi mescott,
What's more, the build 8107 is out and please try it.

              Wish it helps.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'll try build 8107 first before disabling GPU. Thanks CBR929 for your explanation. As mentioned, 8085 is doing the job perfectly at the moment but I assume as new movies come out, may become increasingly unable to process them?

Here's hoping the above build works, otherwise I'll test the other suggestions.

                Cheers

Hi. Happy to report that build 8107 has restored 5.1 to decoded image...at least on the one fairly recent movie I've tested. Will update should this not be consistent with other disks down the line.

                  Thank you for your support.

For the record, I was encountering an identical problem with build 8105. Upgrading to 8107 beta seems to have resolved it.

I can also confirm that it now works again. I'm using buuild 8108 at BD to M2TS AAC is ok.

                        Resolution issue

Whilst the 5.1 surround is working, I'm now experiencing repeated difficulties getting the right video size format. In the 'video effects' a number of options are offered, which get rid of the black bars at the top or bottom. If I choose this, then the picture gets stretched on my 1920x1080 pannie. If I put in my custom size of 1920x1080, I get a small rectangular boxed image, which does not fill the screen.

When using 8085, this was not an issue. I could rely on setting the custom size, which is for blu-ray 1920x1080 and the encoding would faithfully render it correctly.

I am currently not able to get the correct original screen size with this beta.

Anyone else having or have had this problem? Am I using this correctly?

                        Thanks

Please set "Source Aspect Ratio" to 16:9 and then customized size 1920x1080 in Video Effect Settings page.
                          Best regards.

Thanks...umm, I have done this as I thought this would be the correct way to do it. I'll try it again and I'll try it with 8112. Thank you.

Hi. I ensured that the source aspect was set to 16:9 and set the customized size to 1920x1080. I also set my encoding to high quality and 2 passes at around a bitrate of 23gbs. The first time I did this the encoding time for one chapter was around 30min, which was inordinately high - I checked this file by the way and it was a high quality full frame mix...with the black bars.

So I stopped the process and set the encoding to a lower bitrate. This equated to an 8min encode, which is a normal amount for a high quality render - this is an M2TS file by the way.

When the first file was encoded, I paused the process and checked it. 5.1 sound was working okay, however the image appeared rendered in a smaller screen format. I retried several times to no avail. I then loaded 8.0.8.5 and it rendered the image and sound correctly.

Anyone have any ideas or experience with this?

                              Thanks
