DVD Ripper How to get the best audio?

Im pretty new at ripping DVDs and have been using mostly standard settings. I was wondering what the best settings are for getting the highest quality sound. Is it just a matter of cranking up the bit rate? Is pro-logic better than dolby surround? Whats the best way to preserve all the DVD audio and surround quality?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Best audio would be audiocopy of the AC3 track (or DTS if it exists). However, not all format types support audiocopy.

How do I get that? The only audio options I see are the Dolby digital and pro logic. Those are not giving me the 5.1 audio from the disc.

I'm using the iPad profile for playing on an iPad and apple tv. Do the other profiles have better audio options and will still play on those devices?

Sorry, MP4 (Apple) output does not support audiocopy (AC3). AAC with 5.1 is about the best you can hope for.
