BD Ripper (3D Plus) What speed to expect?

    Hi,

    I'm struggling to get more than 7fps when converting a blu ray to a mkv.ac3 - which means it's taking up to 7hrs to rip a bluray. Is this normal for my setup, I have;

    Intel Core2Duo P7450 @ 2.13ghz
    3gb ram
    Ati Radeon Mobility HD 4330
    Windows 7 64bit SP1
    Plextor External BD-ROM px-b120u (via usb2)

    my a/v codec settings are

    Decoder: H.264 DXVA
    VC1: DXVA
    MPEG2: software

    Encoder: H.264 Software
    Enable Lightning ... ticked

I've also tried setting them all to software and it made no difference.

    Running DVD FAB 8.1.0.5

    thanks in advance :-)

    Hi kaiserpc,
Please try the lastest build 8108 QT beta http://www.dvdfab.com/mlink/download.php?g=DVDFAB_BETA and select "Disable all GPU codecs for decoding and encoding" in common settings page.
    Best regards.

      Hi,

thanks for the suggestion - but tried that and it made no difference :-( still around 7fps.

Would purchasing coreavc make any difference?

I wonder if it's because I'm using a external blu ray drive? I'll maybe try ripping a dvd from this external drive to see if it's any slower than from my internal dvd drive (which I get around 24fps when ripping dvds)

        Hi kaiserpc,
Please use Blu-ray Copy to copy the disc to HDD and then rip it.
        Wish it helps.
