I'm trolling around, trying to read, but frankly, why does it have to be so complicated? For a long time now I've had the goal of putting my workout DVDs on something portable for when I'm in a hotel (which is weekly). A guy at the gym was running P90X on his iPhone, and he said he used DVDFab, so here I am.
I have tried going directly from disk (26 min) to .m4p using what LOOKS like the right buttons and profiles, but I end up with a movie that doesn't run, is 795 min long, and iTunes won't put on my device.
I made a "generic" one in .avi, got a usable copy, but when I then put it in Adobe Premier to make it into .m4p for my iPad, there is no sound! (Adobe doesn't have the codec, maybe?)
Finally, after some reading, I make a video_ts to my hard drive, then make the conversion into iPad format using multiple settings, and it's always the same, unwatchable, 795 min file. This has happened now with 2 different disks, from different vendors. Thank goodness they are short so I can get set up.
I don't know what details you need to help me, but I will certainly purchase the full product if I can do what I want. I'm in the first 2 days, and surprised that there is a button to DO something, that then simply doesn't DO that thing. I have to assume this is more complicated that I understand.
Please help me.
Cheers,
MD
