DVD Ripper Playing VOB Passthrough On My PS3

I have ripped a DVD movie using VOB Passthrough, but my PS3 cannot see it over my network.

It can see other files like avi, mp4 etc, but not vob.

Can you please tell me how to do it?

My guess is that you are using a media server that does not understand VOB correctly (Ex. Windows Home Media Server). Try changing the extension of the completed file from VOB to MPG. There are people here that are knowledgable on most of the media servers around so providing detail on what you are using may provide more discussion about your problem.

Thanks Complication. That works. Would I be better off using a third party media server rather than the built-in Windows one? Suggestions?

Better or not would be a matter of opinion. If it is simple and does what you need then there is little reason to change.

I believe there is a way to have HMS recognize the VOB files without renaming them. Google is your friend.
