BD Ripper (3D Plus) Steven Hawking's Universe - rip hangs at 0.35% under v8.1.3.3

I can successfully rip other discs, but attempting the above title (converting to .mkv file using the basic mkv.remux profile) results in some initial activity for a few seconds - the average rate then drops (and keeps dropping) and the drive stops spinning the disc.

no .mkv file is created, upon aborting after a few minutes the .idx and .sub files (only) are created.

I've already enabled the "disable all GPU codecs for decoding and encoding" option.

- any ideas? The disc plays fine on an actual Blu-Ray player, it's brand new and has no scratches (I've literally just bought it a few days ago) ...

Since you need to have it hooked up to the internet perhaps they disabled it on their end in order to push their new build.... just saying. Where is the real support for this issue dvdfab!?

unfortunately this doesn't help as I don't have a way of backing the disc to HDD as it is encrypted. I bought DVDFab Blu-ray ripper option as it has the decrypting ability built in, rather than having to pay for a seperate licence to rip blu-ray discs to HDD which I have no need for (until now). I have a licence for the DVD ripping functionality but only the free blu-ray ripping ability which is not sufficient.

If you wish to provide me with a key for the blu-ray decrypting functionality of DVDFab, I can give it a go ...

unfortunately no change. I also tried the following suggestion from another thread:

Please click the green "√" on the right top and go to common settings page, DVD/Blu-ray->Read, select "Ignore all reading errors automatically" and try again.

- but the process still fails as before, all it shows in the GUI screen is:

- the only other thing I've noticed about the disc, comparing it to others that are OK, is that the volume name of the disc includes both spaces and lower case letters - could that be the issue? The video preview plays OK ...

can you confirm - are you asking me to try a different disc or some other means of ripping the blu-ray disc to hard drive before encoding using DVDFab (which I have already advised above that I do not have another means of ripping the blu-ray disc other than that built into DVDFab)?
