Best Settings for AVI - what about you?

    Hi

I have played about with DVDFab and have decided that the best DVD 2 AVI Settings are as follows:

    I choose generic.xvid.audiocopy profile.

    I change 2 things:

    Set bitrate: 2000
    Framerate: Same as source

Most conversions usually come out at 1900-2400MB depending on the movie time.

I have found that xvid looks better than divx to me.

My question to you lot is what settings do you use to create the best looking DVD quality?

I use exactly the same profile as you and my target test device is a 52" Samsung HD TV hooked up to a variety of media players and I've been doing this for a few years.

The only thing that I will comment on is that I have never found a bitrate that high necessary. I generally use 1200 bitrate but ocassionally use 1500 if the title has a lot of fast moving action.

I always select a resolution of 720 x XXX as I am in PAL Land but use 704 x XXX for the odd NTSC title that I have.
