This first problematic Blu-Ray that I will mention is Jingle All the Way.
I've ripped many movies (both DVD and Blu-Ray, some that came out years ago, some that are newly released) using this program and I frequently have subtitle sync problems with a startlingly large percentage of rips so I end up having to use other programs to get everything working right/in sync. On the other hand, many movies have no problems at all.
Subtitles are very important to me for two reasons, one, we have a hard of hearing person in the household and two, sound output on our TV isn't wonderful so the rest of us like to read them so we don't miss important dialogue. I haven't complained about my subtitle problems yet, but I thought I better share them with you if I ever expect this to improve since it's only getting worse. So, going forward I will report every movie that does not rip subtitles correctly.
The problem is this: I rip a DVD or Blu-Ray and at first glance at the beginning of the movie the subtitles are in sync with the audio. As the movie progresses, the subtitles slowly get out of sync with the audio and by the end of the movie they are way off and make the movie unwatchable with subtitles.
My rips are always done the same way using the "to MKV" profile with "MKV.Remux" selected, no split, and rip to idx/sub for subtitles and I always run my rips via software only (CUDA and all that is always turned off). I love this program and hope that it will someday be a "one-stop-shop" instead of me having to find workarounds and/or download .SRT files, etc. in order to enjoy my subtitles. (That actually is another issue entirely, .SRT files found on the net many times do not match up with the audio/video of whatever DVDFab ripped--as if DVDFab's ripped version plays at a different speed/timing than what was intended in the original encoding on the disc).
If this is something I'm doing wrong or overlooking, please let me know what I can do about it so that I can get accurate rips. It seems odd that it would work fine on a few movies but not many others though without any settings being changed which makes me believe it's the way DVDFab is processing the discs.
