    DVD Ripper Audio sync issues

I am having some audio issues with 8.1.5.9

I have tried ripping Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter The philosophers stone and both have audio syncing problems. I am assuming its something to do with the newer version of DVDFab as I havent changed any hardware or settings.

I am having the same kind of problem. I've been trying to re-rip a number of TV-series episodes on DVD to a higher resolution since I now have devices with higher res screens and the old copies look fuzzy. Anyway, I started ripping some American Dad episodes using ver. 8.1.5.8 and most of them turned out OK, but a few turned up with audio sync problems. They started out in-sync, but later in the play the audio got out of sync with the video. I updated to the latest, 8.1.5.9, but it's still rather hit or miss. Some episodes rip correctly, others seem to, but have the audio sync problem. Some episodes that work and then another that is out of sync are even on the same disc! These DVD's are copied versions though, using DVDFab. I thought that this might be a factor, but it's not.

I booted up my laptop and tried ripping the episodes that didn't rip correctly on there using the older version of DVDFab that I have on there (8.1.0.5) and this one rips them all without the sync problem. My laptop isn't quite as fast as my desktop, but at least the older version of Fab is ripping correctly. I tried doing some Frasier episodes on my desktop again, same thing. So I guess for the time being I'll have to rip my DVD's on my laptop until this problem gets fixed. If you need my logs or other info, let me know and I will post, but since they all ripped "correctly" I don't know what they would tell you.

I also now have audio sync issues using the Generic .avi xvid mp3 profile when ripping DVDs to .avi files.

They happen on the longer movies e.g. over 1 hour 40 minutes and I have had to revert back to 8.1.3.2 for ripping my .ISOs for use on portable media devices and use the current version for copying the DVDs to .ISO.

It's a shame because this audio sync problem disappears for a bit then suddenly returns with different versions.

Please disable all GPU codecs for decoding and encoding in Common Settings\General\A/V codec and then try it again.

For me, I have this done already anyway because ripping with the GPU is very slow. I've tried it both ways, but same result. I've also tried it with the lightning encoding off or on, it still happens. I've tried using different discs with different profiles, still the same problem. At first I tried using an ipod profile, and dvdfab would just crash when trying to analyze a track! I wanted the titles ripped in .MP4, so I chose that, then the generic.h264.aac and tweaked it with the settings I wanted and set it as default. Anyway, what ever the problem is it was introduced a few generations ago and not the fault of the GPU encoders/decoders as far as I can tell.

I don't use the GPU for ripping

I have also turned off GPU for decoding and encoding and the problem remains.

I'm still getting the same audio sync issues with 8.1.6.0

I suppose I could try a different DVD but the ones I am having problems with are the Harry Potter ones.

I was also having issues with 8.1.5.9, also after disabling GPU. Instead of going to 8.1.6.0, I reinstalled 8.1.3.2 and successfully ran my test, then ran a batch of 8 last night successfully. Something between 8.1.3.x and 8.1.5.x is where the problem appears to be. I would have tested other versions, but 8.1.3.2 is the last I had saved before 8.1.5.x.

I am just going to watch the forum and read for the updates before updating again.

I forgot to mention, that I had forgotten to disable GPU on 8.1.3.2 and the new iPad and iPhone rips were great.
