I've noticed a bit of video noise when ripping to mkv, even using high bitrate setting and 2-pass encoding.
The strange thing is that with approx. the same setting (resolution, bitrate) this noise is not present at all in avi xvid ripping and the resulting file is even smaller.
I'm talking of a very fine grain especially around faces or objects.
Did anyone noticed it? Any workaraound?
VBR (Variable Compression Bitrate) maybe?
Thanks for any input.
