I am trying to rip a DVD to video. I have used other software to analyse the DVD, and it says that the video stream is 16:9 and 720 x 576.
When I open the DVD in DVDFab8qt, the frame resolution offered to me that does not include black bars is 720 x 296
I just don't understand this. According to my calculations, 16:9 would be 720x406.
720 x 296 would be 16:7
Obviously I'm not understanding something basic. Can anyone please help me get my head around this so that I can pick the optimum frame resolution when converting DVDs to video. I will be watching the video on a Samsung Galaxy 7.7, which has a screen resolution of 1280 x 720
I use Windows 7 64. DVDFab 8.1.6.3
