Ripping DVD to WMV help Please!

Hi Anyone..
Since having DVDfab I have done a lot of burning.I haven't done any ripping, etc. I recently ripped a DVD to a WMV file. I then used WIN movie maker to edit and create a WMV video. I noticed that the finished WMV file was only 1minute long, but the file size was 6.5 megabites in size. Is there any way while Ripping the DVD, to create a smaller finished file size? I don't mind a decrease in resolution, etc. Maybe possibley changeing the Bit rate, or number of frames, etc.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Not sure what you meant by the remark you posted but just want to point out we do not condone file sharing or piracy. It may not be what you are intending but to avoid confusion I removed it. I will leave the thread open so you may get answers to your questions. Sorry if I misread the original post.
