I've been killing myself for months and months over this. Xbox 360 just keeps telling me it can't play them. Don't remember the exact message but it really doesn't have any bearing cuz this is what I found out. It's not the video or audio encoding that's the problem.
If I open the mp4 in xmediarecode and select "video copy" and "audio copy", no re-encoding, the resulting files play fine. It's not a hassle since it only takes a few seconds, about as long as copying the file would. Just wondering what causes this. I've tried the xbox 360 mp4 profile but same problem.
Below find the mediainfo for the file as encoded by dvdfab (#1) and copied with xmediarecode (#2).
The GENERAL section seems to contain the differences. Not sure what to look for. Some info mediainfo supplies on one file and not the other like "writing application".
