DVD Ripper Ripping problems

The problem is that I can't really rip anything. The symptoms:

1. Rip process appears to begin.
2. Once at about 0.60% (not very long) the FPS starts dropping and the time remaining starts going up.
3. Nothing else ever happens... it just keeps trying forever, but with no real progress.
4. The folder is created but no file is created (not even a partial).

I have repeated this process with 5 different movies (all 5 rip just fine with DVD decryptor - another product, so I know the discs are good, and they also view just fine in any players including the PC doing the ripping).

I tried a suggestion from another thread and I used DVD clone first. Then tried to rip from the clone and it did the exact same thing. 0.60% for hours and no end in site. It never crashes, I can gracefully cancel the process.

Thanks for any help, right now I'm not able to accomplish much. The movies I have tried are Three Amigos and all 4 Lethal Weapon movies.

Update:

I have tried using a different ISO that I made with another program and that won't work for ripping either. So I can't rip from disk, I can't rip from an ISO from DVDFAB, and I can't rip from a DVD Decryptor ISO.

For starters try turning off Cuda Open Fab click the Click the Green √ at top right corner of the DVD Fab screen, and open Common Settings > General >A/V Codec, put a check in Disable all GPU codes and make sure they are set to Software, restart Fab and try again.

Slightly different issue now. One of the movies "works" in that the copy process begins, but it finalizes the first pass at 1.6%. Then it performs the second pass and then finishes successfully but only a very small portion of the movie is actually there. It appears to hang like the previous efforts (before disabling Cuda) but this time it actually finishes without errors (only ignoring most of the movie)

Edit: Same result if I clone to an ISO first and then try to rip the ISO. (the clone works fine and is the full movie, something is happening when trying to rip the track.

Hi hucklebarry
Please do not convert from your drive
First save it to your HDD as BD50 "Main Movie" using BD Copy without compression.
Then open the hard drive folder and use the folder on your HDD to do your converting.
Doing it this way saves wear and tear on your optical drive and is also faster.


Also do not do 2 pass, it has always been an issue and you will never see a difference between 1 and 2 pass.

well, as I said, it took 3 tries and I didn't do anything different between each try to make it work. I'm on another movie now and after 3 tries it still hangs (keeps running forever without any errors). As mentioned before, I've disabled CUDA, copied the main movie and am trying to rip from the HD copy.

I appreciate your help... right now its not very consistent in working for me.

I've got at least one that won't ever rip. It's Rocky 2 (from the Complete Saga pack). Each disk is individually cased in a slim case and the other 5 movies all rip just fine.

I've tried over a dozen times and each time it stops advancing progress at around 26%. As before it never crashes or fails, the FPS just starts dropping and the time remaining keeps rising indefinitely. I'm able to rip this with other applications, but I really need DVDfab to work with this as they tend to get the audio wrong or the file size creeps up using other apps. DVDfab is able to clone or main movie copy just fine. But ripping from that is where the problems occur.
