DVD Ripper Very Annoying bug in DVD-Ripper

    Hi,

I tried to rip a DVD with DVDFab 8.2.0.0 and noticed the following...

Every second or so the image "jumps" forward as if there are some frames missing. Tried several settings/codex but to no avail.

The format I wanted to rip in was a simple AVI file.

That makes DVDFab in fact useless to me.

    Anyone can confirm that?

    Cheers...

        Hi crfs1974
Can you try copying the movie to your Hdd first using DVD Copy as main movie, then converting to see if you have the same results???

That is also one of my favorite older versions.
        CBR929

EDIT: Does it do it through the whole movie?
I will run a movie through an AVI now, but from a folder on my Hdd.

          Hi CBR929,

That's exactly how I did it. Ripe whole DVD to disk and then convert to AVI.

And yes, it does it true the whole movie. Especially noticable during pan of the camera.

          Cheers.

                Hi crfs1974
I have run 1 movie so far, watched with VLC & DVD Fab media player and no problems.

Running another conversion as we speak, will report back when done.

What player or device are you using for playback?

Try DVD Fab media player found here

                  Hi CBR929,

I use Windows Media Player and VLC 2.0.3.

Both display the same jumps in the movie.

But you have to pay attention. It's not that the movie jumps all over the place.

Will try it with different DVD.

Get back to you soon asap...

But like i said before... with an older version of DVDFab no problem at all.

                    Hi crfs1974
Just viewed 2nd conversion with a lot of fast action scenes and all is good on my end.

I almost always use my older versions so I never have to worry about stuff like this.
                    I'm out for tonight..

                      Update...

Just downloaded the older DVDFab 8.0.8.5 trial from the DVDfab website and gave it another shot.

Guess what, this version does work without a flaw.

There clearly is a bug in the newer versions. But maybe not reproducible o every system...

Guess I'll wait and see how the next version performs before buying it.

                      Cheers...
