Sounds more like an overheating problem than a software issue. Is it a laptop?
Excellent point. I'll point out that I was having an overheating & shutdown problem with a dell laptop. I resolved it by taking a vacuum to the back on the vents. I cleaned out most if not all the dust that was blocking air from coming in. Its resolved my problem. Probably something that will be a yearly or every 6 month activity.
No its a desktop with i7 2600k processor and I have a cooler pump for the heatsink. I don't get about 26% on my CPU when ripping. And my Temp does not get over 56c.
