DVD Ripper What is the best Xbox compatible format?

As my fellow Xbox users are aware, rips to WMV format result in the last 3 minutes of video being truncated (audio still there), and the Xbox does not not seem to recognize the mp4 format which DvdFab produces. So, what are the best profile and settings to use when ripping for the Xbox? I'm interested in quality over small file size. The generic avi profile for xvid and audiocopy seems to work, but wondering if anyone has found the Xbox sweet spot?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

You didn't indicate what your source was (i.e. DVDs, Blu-Rays or something else). I'd suggest considering the m2ts format. It is very widely supported and DVDfab gives you a lot of control over saize and quality. It might be worth a try.

I use DVD Fab version 6.2.1.8 to rip to WMV for the Xbox. It's the only version I have had the most luck using. Normally I can't get audio to be in synch ever since version 7. Tried the latest version of 9 with no success as well. I haven't tried in awhile on a XP system but under any Windows 7 system with different CPU's and video cards the audio is never in synch for me, with or without using GPU. I've also tried the hundreds of other excellent suggestions from the forums and even CoreAVC which seems to have less support or recommendations these days. So I just use an old version of DVD Fab to convert for the Xbox. Just a suggestion.

Is there a place to download really old versions?

          Hi poseidon7902
You can find some older versions here
Remember that they are no longer supported.
          Hope this helps

I have deleted your post, this is a DVD Fab forum do not post recommendations to other software again.
          Thanks

            Best video format for Xbox

            Hey guys,
I'm having the same issue. I want to make a copy of my ISO movie collection into an streamable file format for the Xbox, AppleTV, and iOS devices. So far all attempted conversions have yielded poor results in video quality when compared to the direct ISO copy.
Does anyone have a recommendation on a file format and conversion settings?

            Thanks!
            Chris
