    Scandisk Sansa Fuze

I am looking for an .avi recipe for the Scandisk Sansa Fuze (mp3 player with video) from DVD to mobile.
The unit comes with is't own media converter that does not live up to it's claims and doesn't work.
The only insight I can give you is the Sansa forum here : http://www.sandisk.com/sandisk-support/forums
I am looking for an avi file that I can copy directly to the unit. Not a file that I would need to run through their converter.
Thanks in advance for any help.

      SanDisk Sansa View

      Same problem with the View.

Sansa Media Converter doesn't work, and their support stinks. I have tried supposedly supported formats (MPEG4, WMV, H.264) with DVDFab. I get "Unsupported Format" error from the View.

I did successfully convert a DVD once, but I no longer have that software or even remember what it was. I was told DVDFab was the way to go, but so far, nada.

It would be fantasic if DVDFAB had a profile for the Fuze. It seems the sample .avi that came on the player had the following details. I was able to get close with DVDFAB, but the audio rate was wrong (48 kHz) and the interleave was wrong too (1 frame, 50ms, no split). I bet if I knew how to set these correctly, it would work.

        Video:
        Codec DivX 5.0
        224x176
        Bitrate ~600 kb/s
        Frames per second 20.000

        Audio:
        MPEG-1 Layer 3
        128 kb/s (64/ch, stereo) CBR
        44.100 kHz

        Stream Type and A/V Interleave:
        OpenDML AVI
        IMRR 1.00
2 vid frames (100ms) Split: Yes

        Metadata:

Use MediaInfo (Download from the Internet) to get the information on the AVI files.

You can set one of the AVI profiles to do what you want yourself once you have that information.

It looks like you should to be able to use the generic.avi.xvid.mp3 profile.

Just go into the "EDIT" page and set the video bitrate to 683 Kbps, resolution to 224 x 176 framerate to 20.000 fps and your audio to 128 Kbps, 2 channels.

                Give it a go !!!
