I'm looking to convert my dvd and blu ray collection to MKV's and was wondering whether there is an optimal bits/pixel setting I should be using for both? I will generally be viewing on a 46" LCD tv so I want the quality to be excellent, but don't want my file sizes to be extremely large (i.e. aiming for 10-20gb range for movies).
I have done a bit of research and I understand that aiming for 0.25 should be ok, but may be worth considering upping it for action/fast movies?
Is 0.25 a good level for excellent quality on a large screen?
Is it worth upping it to 0.3?
Should I be using the same bits/pixel setting for Blu Ray and DVD (retaining their original resolutions)?
Or should I go higher for DVD, e.g. 0.5?
Thanks in advance!
