    DVD Ripper Ripped MP4 to computer - audio not working but ..

    ... the audio works fine playing the movie when copied onto a thumb drive and played through the media player/tv. I thought well the problem must be with my audio setup on the computer. I ripped another dvd to the computer as an mkv file and I get sound. Can anyone help me fix this, I don't understand why I get audio with mkv but not mp4.

    Make sure you are using version 9.0.1.8 if using version 9, if not post the internal log.

      Try using decent player software on your PC.

      Fab Media Player or VLC, not that Windoze crap.

            The log is incomplete, didn't include the mp4 stuff. If you selected the mp3 audio steam Windows Media Player ain't going to play it without an additional codec.

              I'm not sure what I should be selecting. I'm just using the default settings for ripping to mp4.

              Under conversion settings;

              Device: mp4 generic.mp4.h264.mp3
              The profile is used to create mp4(h264 + mp3) file, which can be played on PC or supported device.

              Audio format:mp3
              Bitrate: 64 kbps
              Channel: Dolby Prologic II

                Yep mp3 is not native to WMP or iTunes, Quicktime. Try selecting mp4.aac with the latest version. Will play on everything, the mp3 will play on DVDFab Media Player on your computer though.

                  Trying mp4.h264.aac now. I'll post the results.

                  Downloaded the trial version of the DVDFab Media Player and as you said the mp3 audio works fine.
