DVD Ripper DVD Vob Passthrough, No Length (time)

After ripping a DVD using Vob Passthrough, the vob file has no length (time). Some show different times, all not the correct time of the movie. It also doesn't allow you to skip ahead, sometimes it just brings you back to the beginning.

I'm seeing the same problem with vob passthrough. Some movies rip with the correct time and others have 0:00 or other varying lengths. I just ripped Les Miserables (2012) DVD and the length is 00:00:00. The movie is intact and plays correctly but the time problem prevents fast forwarding when viewing. I've tried 8.2.2.8Qt and 9.0.3.1 and have the same problem with both.

The problem appears to be limited to vob passthrough. Rip to mp4 has correct time.

Will DVDFab address this issue in a future release or is there a current solution for this?

I've read somewhere that it is caused by the way the movie is put onto the DVD and not a problem with DVDFab. I ripped DVD's with other software and experienced the same issue. There is a program I use called VideoReDo. Among other things it has a Tool called QuickStream Fix which fixes the problem. It doesn't convert or recode your .vob, it only repairs it. You will then have a .vob with the correct time.

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded a trial copy of other software and it looks like it repaired the time stamp with no apparent side effects. I'll try it on a few more movies and verify the results before I commit to buying it though.

I'm storing my entire DVD collection on a NAS and I'm counting on the vob.passthrough to preserve the original DVD quality. I have hundreds of videos and don't want to process them any more than necessary.
