    DVD Ripper PS3/Android Video Format

I have an Asus router with Attached hard drive. I am looking for the best format to use so that I can watch through my PS3 and/or Android Tablet/Phone. I have tried MP4 AAC audio and it works on the PS3 and the Android, but I get bad sound on the Android. I have tried MP4 MP3 and it works on the Android but not the PS3. MKV does not work on the PS3 to my understanding. Any suggestions on a format to use that will works with both. I guess I could try AVI but that takes a lot of space and to my knowledge is not the best for streaming.

    I appreciate any advise.

You are chasing the "Holy Grail".

Both pieces of hardware have different requirements for their video stream so there is always going to be a compromise.

That is what I was afraid of. Why the heck can't they just standardize stuff so it works on everything? I know dumb question, they all want to just make money.

      Thanks,

How many sound channels do you have in the MP4 AAC rip?
In case of 5.1, does your Android support that?
