BD Ripper (3D Plus) Prometheus Blu Ray

[MadBats]

I have been trying to rip this movie for the past 2 days. It'll start and go on for about 15 minutes and then tell me there was an error reading if i want to retry, abort, ignore and ignore all. I have tried all these options and to no avail it still does not work. I am using DVDFab 9.2.8

If anyone know what I could do the help would be appreciated. I am new to this program so please bear with me.

First update to version 9.0.3.3 and then clean the disc with some window cleaner and a lint free cloth, even if it looks clean. Failing that post the internal log.

Yes that's it and the last line in the log is the fly in the ointment. If the cleaning didn't work it may just be a badly manufactured disc. The laser can see pits molded into the surface of the disc on a data path over five miles long around the disc, so it sees things you can't.

Georg:Your 2 versions behind in your Pioneers firmware.Update it at the Pioneers internet sight follow all flashing instructions to the letter.Your on version 1.20 should be on 1.30 their was a version in between but 1.30 will have all the newest improvements.

This is your drive make sure you download the proper firmware for your model if any questions call or email Pioneer BEFORE flashing drive with new firmware BD-RW BDR-207D.Failure to follow firmware instructions can result in drive that won't work.Its a easy download but make sure you do it the way they tell you and that the right firmware is selected If unsure call or email Pioneer.

This may not be the cause because read errors are mostly caused by dirty or scratched,warped or defective disks even if they play ok copying a disk needs to be clean and free of any deep scratches or dimples.

Thank you Glenns. GPU acceleration needs to be changed only in the DVDFab settings or also somewhere in my graphics card settings? Will follow recommendations, although I am not certain there is any sense (there is some risk) in updating the formware of a drive that appears to be functioning OK if all I'll get is better BD recording that I never do. In the meantime update:

Got myself another copy of Prometheus. At first attempt ripped like normal (knife through butter) being read at around 23MB/s compared to arounf 8MB/s during the failed rips with the initial disc. Successful rip:

However: just for the "fun" of it I tried again (after successful rip) with the second disc (the one I had just ripped as above) and was back to the initial situation (reading at 8MB/s)...

The update I posted was for the latest firmware their was another one inbetween you missed also. I always update its a matter of downloading a file and not powering down before the update is done loading really simple just make sure you download the correct firmware for your model that's all.

I put the warning in their for non tec. types and teens using someone else's computer.Updates have improvements,new feature's and play more kinds of blank media as well as fix any bugs.you can go to the Pioneer sight and see what was in the update in between also.Sometimes updates are a must for newer type of movie disks to play.

GPU acceleration needs to be changed only in the DVDFab settings when you are having trouble with a disk trans coding normally.
