The first one has AC3 audio and the second is AAC, not that I think that will help
I've got so many copies of this video (with all the different mkv profiles) I can't keep them straight. Regardless, of the profile I used, they were all out of sync with the DVDFab mkv ripper.
Fab is picking the wrong frame rate and applying it (301 secs x 23.976 / 29.970 = 288.8 = 4 min 9 secs).
I have seen this problem sneak through many, many times before and my usual workaround is to ensure that I ALWAYS select "Same as Source" and do not leave Fab choose it.
Are you doing this as part of a batch process? Do it as a stand-alone job to ensure that it is not a queue carry over problem.
Give that a go and report back.
As an aside, I have found that sometimes the HB Frame rate mode : Variable Duration can cause problems with older media players and generally use Constant Frame Rate mode whenever I can.
Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.
@Signals, can you please point this out to the devs?
I am not doing this rip as part of a batch process. I select the individual title only and there are no other titles in a queue.
I have both the default framerate and the default audio channel set as Same as source.
I also changed the default framerate to Specified in profile to see if that would make a difference. There was no change and the audio was still out of sync.
The peculiar thing I notice during the rip is that the "Output" bar progresses from 0% to higher numbers in a normal fashion but then stops at 80%. The ripper then stops and declares that the rip was successful.
On all rips that work properly the "Output" bar progresses from 0% up to 100% in a normal fashion.
This behavior only happens with a handful of bonus features on this disc. The main movie and other titles rip fine with mkv. There is something in these specific titles that is fooling the DVDFab ripper.
In addition to mkv I have also ripped this file with DVDFab to avi, mp4 and wmv. I get the same out of sync result.
Yet I can take this same file and rip it with other programs and it is in perfect sync.
Thank you GregiBoy for helping me with this problem. I want you to know that I took your advice and I no longer burn discs. Everything goes on the hard drives now and I play them with my WDTV Live media player.

Did you try what I suggested in the post just above?
Hi GregiBoy,
Yes, I think I did everything. GPU acceleration makes no difference, and frame rate is "same as source".

As I have mentioned before, this problem is specific to the DVDFab Blu-ray Ripper. Other rippers and video converter programs I have used do not have this sound sync problem. Also, the DVDFab Blu-ray copy program does not create a sound sync problem with this file either.
