DVD Ripper Ipod Classic Ripping Error

Hi, yesterday I ripped two dvds using DVDFab 9.0.4.5 to watch on my ipod classic, and all seemed well and they played fine on iTunes, but when I tried to put them on my ipod I was given this message:

"'Napoleon Dynamite' was not copied to the iPod because it can not be played on this iPod"

How can I fix this? Before ripping the movies I chose iPod Classic at the bottom, so I'm not sure why this happened. I'd appreciate any help I could get! Thanks!

Jrad, post your internal log for one of these files that won't play. There is really no way to know without it. I would guess the audio is wrong but just a guess.

Yeah that's what I thought the iPod Classic profile defaults to 5.1 multichannel and that won't play on your device. You need to change it to stereo @ 160 and you'll be good to go.

No I think you are gonna have to rip it again, but I would do a couple chapters first just to make sure I know of what I speak.

I clicked advanced settings at the bottom and went to audio and changed it to stereo, is that the right place for it? Also, if I right click it on iTunes and look at its info, it says "Channels: Stereo".

I don't have an iPod but I tried the profile on my iPad this morning and iTunes loaded it just fine and played great on the device.

Hmm...do you have any other ideas as to why it's doing this?

I really don't, I was hoping someone else would chime in. Do you have MediaInfo? It's a free program and tell a lot about the file. Just open the program and drag the file onto it and set the debug to 10.
