It looks like the profile is using the "main" profile, I'd bet a buck it needs to be Baseline. Try a couple chapters using the "iPod.mpeg4" profile, it uses a simple profile but may work and I'll try to find a Baseline profile.

Looks looks like the iPod.h264 profile should work ok. Set the audio to stereo.

Ok, I used the iPod.h264 one, and it actually loaded onto my iPod, but it didn't play when it was on my ipod. When I tried to play it it would just skip it and play the next video. Could it have anything to do with the resolution? The resolution for ipod.h264 is 320x174, but when I chose the ipod classic option it would give me 640x346. Here's the mediainfo for it if you want to see it.

What device do you have? Be specific so I can look up the specs.. I don't know if it supports H.264 AVC or what? Did you try the iPod.mpeg4 profile? How to post the internal log

These are the specs of what I have: http://www.apple.com/ipodclassic/specs.html
I'll give the ipod.mpeg4 a try now, see if that works

I've been making files with other software I have for the iPod and they look the same I just can't see why yours won't play. Maybe someone smarter than me will happen along. How to post the internal log

That could be it mate, the old stand by software still makes them with constant frame rate and you can choose in the other one I use.How to post the internal log

Alright, so I downloaded it and first tried ipod.h264 and that one couldn't load on to my ipod, but then I tried ipod.mpeg4 and that one did, and it actually plays too! Just one thing though, the image is really horrible quality, is there some way to make it look a little better? The ipod.h264 one looked a lot better when I watched it on the computer, could I get quality like that with the mpeg4?

Ripping problems for ipod classic
I have experienced similar problems as Jrad ripping for the ipod classic (9.0.4.5). I had no problems with earlier versions of the software but the recent update no longer works. I have tried numerous settings for apple and MP4 devices, but have yet to find one that works.
It would appear that the ripping engine has been altered. See the screen grabs. Lavf52.78.4 was the encoder for a successful rip of Close Encounters, and DvdFab encoder was used for the unsuccessful attempt to rip one of the Batman films.
I've spent hours trying different settings and thought I'd post my findings on the forum in the hope that something is done to correct the problem.

Yeah it really seems like there's no way to get it on the classic with the current version! For your successful rip, what settings did you use? Because on 8.0.8.5 it doesn't seem like there's an option that actually says iPod Classic. And when I tried using ipod.mpeg4 it was really low quality with all the green on the thumbnail like in the screenshot you showed. Do you think I should change my resolution or something to make it look a little better? I was using 640x346, but I noticed that yours was 720x300.
