    BD Ripper (3D Plus) Can't Enable Lightning Shrink

    Lightning Shrink is grayed out and doesn't allow me to select. Anyone know if it's just my rig or is something else going on?

    Here's my setup:

    * Dell Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66
    * Windows 8.1 64
    * 8 GB RAM
    * NVIDIA GeForce GT 240

    DVDFab Versions tried:
    9.0.7.1b
    9.0.7.2
    9.1.0.1b

    It will take a developer to answer definitively but I think that GT 240 doesn't have enough horsepower.

      I have the same card, and reading about it - I came to the conclusion that it's in the pony power class.

          No, that option went "grayed out" in one of the later versions.

          But the card is now old (released 2009) and was in the middle price class range when I bought it. So I guess it's time to get a new one if I want to use that option.

          I never spend much money on graphic cards as I don't use the computer for gaming.

          even when the cards debut it was considered as entry level card
          .

            Thanks!

            Just wondering...is there a description somewhere of the minimum specifications required to use this option?

            Cheers

              Gummi, you could probably get an i7 CPU and motherboard for the price of an up level NVIDIA card. I have a 3770K CPU and am well pleased with the speed and especially encoding speed. I have a graphics card but it is unplugged, like you I'm not a gamer so I don't miss it even for HD movies. My next system I'm not going to bother with a graphics card!

                Strange...

                OK...it seems as though Lightning Shrink is enables despite the fact that DVDFab shows the option box grayed out and unchecked. When I perform a conversion -- in this case .mp4 to .mkv, CUDA GPU acceleration w/Lightning Shrink displays (see graphic).

                Weird.

                    With version 9.1.0.2 I can now enable this Lightning Shrink feature for my NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 card.

                      Fixed

                      Yep, it appears as though it's working as it should in 9.1.0.2b.

                      Thanks all!
