BD Ripper (3D Plus) Alien³ (1992) fails if the cubed symbol (³) is in the file name

I rip my movies as 1:1 copies to MKV containers. I specify the file name in the ripper to what is listed on TMDB. In this case I am ripping Alien³ (1992): http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/8077-alien

When the ripper starts it creates a 1kb file and then I see the throughput drop from around 8MB/s to 0. DVDFab continues to run but the progress stays at zero, cancelling the job freezes the program and I need to end it via Task Manager. If I remove the ³ from the file name it rips successfully. This also occurred with [REC]² (2010).

Just guessing here but I have to believe that superscript is not an allowed character in file nomenclature.

Yeah, that is what I assumed too. I don't expect this to be fixed but some better error handling would be a good idea.
