DVD Ripper Sub title won't display

I have version 9.1.1.5 I have tried burning Star Trek Into Darkness and Sherlock Holmes and I cannot get the subtitles to work on my tv or my computer (Windows Media Player). Of course I have chose English subtitles when ready to convert. I have checked the "Always only display forced subtitles" I have tried unchecking it. I have also tried the exporting to file but I don't want separate files. I have also tried rendering directly into video and that seems to work fine but I don't want it always forced into the video like that, I want to be able to turn on sub title at my discretion.

Uncheck forced only and remux the subtitles into the file.

Didn't work for me. This is only chapter 15 so I didn't spend the next twelve hours waiting for this conversion. Restarted at 4:18:40

Remuxed into file works fine with DVDFab Media Player and VLC media player I can turn them on or off, but not with WMP. Your problem is likely with your soft player.

Ok, so is remux into file software specific to DVDfab Media Player and VLC media player? I've tried to show the subtitle on my tv (LG 3D led tv) Windows media player and my usb enabled LG Blu-ray player and none of them will show it. Any other suggestions? Also, can you tell me how "Always display only forced subtitle" works and what it is for?

Remux is a common process of including whatever media stream you're working with (subtitles in this case) into the media container (e.g. MKV file). Remuxing into the file is a relatively new feature for DVDFab and they're still working out the kinks. It displays fine on some media players and not on others.

Forced subtitles are the subtitles that only appear when someone is speaking a foreign language and all viewers would need to see the subtitles - in your case, when someone is speaking Klingon.

Standalones like BD players usually suck at supporting embedded subs. If they do, it's most likely gonna be SRT (text), BD subs are PGS (bitmaps).

Thanks for the clarification. Should I contact DVDfab to report my problem? I have also found that when I choose "display forced subtitles" my tv does not recognize the file and says it is invalid. Took me like 2 weeks to figure that out just trial and error.

This is quite a daunting task and I am getting weary. Glad I haven't paid for this program yet. Considering other programs or just viewing everything straight from the disks and forgetting about the rest.

I spoke to someone breifly from my work that uses DVDfab and said I don't have enough memory. I have 2GB of ram and my computer was a black friday special for $200 in 2009 at walmart. Is there a good chance that my computer is the problem? A side note, took me 44 hours to convert Batman(1989) BD to MP4 normal quality 1 pass encoding. What is the minimum requirements normally expected to due well with this program when converting?

Thanks for the reply, I hope dvdfab will have a solution soon. Basically, I am wanting a universal file that will play on virtually any device.

I have downloaded a number of movies in MP4 format from the internet and they have played fine on everything I have, but none of them have sub titles anyway. I can't even even get that with my own conversions.

The issue I am having besides the sub titles is that when I play back my final product (Batman 1989 BD converted to mp4) on my tv, the picture will freeze for a split second then resume while the audio will freeze for the next split second and then resume in perfect sync with each other. This repeats through the entire film at different intervals about every 5 minutes or so. Seems to get worse with the more action packed scenes and also worse exponentially with the normal, high and customized quality setting. The same file seems to play just fine on my phone and my computer though, but I haven't watched enough to be absolute on that statement.

Also did a passthrough conversion of Marvels The Avengers BD at 24gb and my tv wouldn't even recognize it, said it was invalid. Should I contact LG about my TV and see what is supported or if my TV is jacked up?

I guess I'm just trying to get a grip on my expectations for this program and figure out if it's possible or even if it's feasible to continue from here. I would like any input about how to fix these issues anyone may have on this.

                Thanks

                    It's fairly simple really.

BD Subtitles (PGS) are NOT supported in the MP4 container and most hardware players like TV's, BR Players & Media Players will not recognise then whereas some software media players such as VLC will support them through hacks to the container support.

                    The options are:-
Use hardware that supports PGS in the MKV container
Obtain external SRT subtitles for these movies.
Convert the PGS subs to SRT yourself through free programs such as Subtitle Edit

PS. Windows Media Player is a POS so any tests with it are absolutely useless.

Sorry, I should have clarified that I have some UV codes for digital downloads as well as some digital copys that have come with my purchases. I have found that they are grossly inadequate in quality or resolution and are otherwise worthless other than the fact that they don't possess any of the same issues I am having with my conversions.
                      Thanks
