DVD Ripper Not able to open discs (DVD or BD)

Both DVD Ripper and BD Ripper has stopped working for me. It's not able to open/load DVDs or BDs. Same results with several discs (Skyfall DVD, Resident Evil DVD, True Grit BD). It tries to read the disc for a long time, maybe a minute or 2, and then either fails or thinks it succeeds but really doesn't. By the latter, I mean the title appears ready to rip, but when I start the rip, it doesn't work. The completion stays at 0% and the time left just keeps increasing. Both use to work fine. Your DVDFab Media Player has no problem reading and playing the same discs, however. I am using the latest DVDFab (9.1.1.9). The dvdfab_internal.log file is attached. Please let me know how to fix this. Thanks.

I think I may have solved the issue. I was about to try uninstalling and re-installing the DVDFab program when I noticed that the in my list of installed programs, my DVDFab was listed as 9.1.1.5, not 9.1.1.9. 9.1.1.5 was the previous version I had prior to updating to 9.1.1.9. Then I remembered how the update had gone and that it was not clear it had been done right.

The update happened like this: I had a DVD in the drive and I started up DVDFab. When it started, it said there was a newer version, and asked if I would like to update?, I clicked yes. Now during the update, it said it couldn't do the update while DVDFab was running, but there was no way to close/quit DVDFab because it was busy reading the disc. So I let the update continue, and the updater didn't seem to mind and everything seemed fine with the update. But it was not fine. Apparently the update resulted in a corrupted DVDFab.

This is a bug with the DVDFab updater. It should have quit out of the update when it detected DVDFab was running.

After uninstalling and re-installing, I was able to rip Skyfall with no issues.
