BD Ripper (3D Plus) Wich profile to use

Hi,

I have seen in earlier threads that I'm not the only one who is puzzled by this. And I haven't seen a good explanations thus far.

Wich profile should I use to keep the DTS HD Audio when ripping to MKV? I'm trying to rip from external hd:s. I have tried mkv.remux and, what other have suggested, mkv.h264.audiocopy. But I only get plain DTS-sound.

In MKV advanced settings check audio same as source or if not compressing the video use MKV pass through profile.
Make sure the source files on the hard drive have hd sound on them first as if the hd audio was stripped off during the rip to hard drive then that's the problem.

By the way, does this works for 8 or do I have to use 9? I can't see the option for advanced settings in version 8 (latest version).

Well, I have now tried to convert a bd-movie from external hd to mkv (on an other external hd) with the latest version of 9, but I still only get plain DTS, allthough the source has DTS HD.

I see there is a tutorial for converting to mkv, but that is for version 8.
Would be nice with a step by step guide for how to do this succesfully with version 9.

I tried converting one chapter of a movie with dts hd sound already on hard drive and selected mkv passthrough audio and video set to passthrough and your correct no dts master sound only dts 5.1 sound then I tried m2ts passthrough with both audio and video set to pass through same as source and the same thing happened only dts 5.1 then I tried mp4 passthrough set the same way and theirs no sound at all.I used power dvd 11 and Fab versions 9121 and 9119 both has the same problem.

I'm playing from my Oppo 103 via hd. And I only get plain dts from there. I have not burnt to disk. I prefer to have my films (mostly bd:s) stored on external hd:s and play them from there.

Well I have all kinds of problems trying to get MKV to play with dts hd sound seems only my media player will play it correct in hd dts.

I tried power dvd 11,VLC player and burning to disk and playing with my Panasonic dmp-bd 75 blu ray player with latest firmwear and all played only the dts core.

Also when making a mkv with normal h264 settings and audio copy the data was to big to fit a dvd9 disk 8.46 gigs.When burning this to a blu ray disk and playing on the above blu ray player it plays for 6 mins then stops and the player freezes and I have to unplug it to work again.It also only plays the core dts.

Version 8 does the same thing.Seems the software players are streaming MKV when this happens the dts hd plays from the core dts only were as the media player is playing from the file and it plays the full hd audio.

I don't know why when burned to disk the disk when played with my Panasonic outboard player it freezes up after playing 5 -6 mins and also seems to stream the MKV so it plays core dts only.I do have it set to play MKV in settings.

Version 8 also make's the MKV to big for dvd 9 disk 8.47 gigs with version 9 it made it 8.46 gigs using audio copy and h264 MKV.
