    FabCore has stopped working

Hello, I am using DVDFab 6.2.1.8.

All of my DVD's are SD, no Blue Ray or HD.

I have a Hornettek Mirage Media device, and want to convert my DVD collection to Digital media. I downloaded DVDFab and it worked great the first day (Jan 1st). I was able to convert existing (commercial) DVD's, and rip (commercial) DVD's to hard drive and convert the files over to AVI (using the generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy profile).

Yesterday (Jan 2nd) I started having problems. Doing the same things i was doing Friday (Jan 1st). I had a number of DVD's ripped (using ) to hard drive, all of them older DVD's (The Break-up was the newest). When i attempted to convert the files to AVI (using the generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy profile), i got an error similiar to the one below (sorry i didnt capture the exact error). I then changed my profile to use the generic.avi.xvid.mp3 profile (MP3's set to 320kbs) and that worked for some of them.

Now today, i get the error below, so i attempted the complete Uninstall of DVDFab (found through google), uninstalled the application, removed the folders in the user profile, delete registry entries etc..

I reinstalled DVDFab 6.2.1.8, attempted to reconvert files (ConAir) and attempted to rip from the actual DVD, but get the same results.

Forgot to add, i attempted to reconvert, re-rip a movie that was successful on Friday and recieve the same error.

    Please help
    • The nature of the problem - DVDFab crash, see below text of error and FabError.jpg
    • The EXACT profile you used and any parameters within it that you may have changed - generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy (default setting) and generic.avi.xvid.mp3 (320kbs)
    • If using a custom profile, please attach it to your post - N/A
    • Whether this happens with all titles or just one - All so far
    • Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration - Intel I7, 6 Gigs ram, NVidia GT285 1 gig ram
    • If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware - N/A
    • If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added - Any DVD but not running and was installed before DVDFab

I normally wouldnt bump my own threads, but does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?

      hi,

I had a number of DVD's ripped (using Gregiboy's best practices) to hard drive, all of them older DVD's (The Break-up was the newest). I'm not entirely sure what your asking. I ripped the DVD, (tried both DVDFab and XXXX ripped VOB files) onto my hard drive, in the manner outlined in Gregiboys best practices thread. I then tried to use these ripped files and convert to XVID.

OK download and install the latest beta 6.2.2.0.

Make sure that when you start Fab, you "Run as Administrator"

PS: Try turning off PathPlayer when doing the "DVD to Mobile" step from the unencrypted folders.

GregiBoy (and all) 6.2.2.0 Beta seems to have fixed my issue.

I had an issue converting a .MKV to .AVI (windows media states the file wasnt muxed properly, even though i can play the .MKV with no problem).

Worse case i'll re-rip and convert the DVD into AVI (i originally used .MKV for the .H264 but the Hornettek media player doesnt understand either formats)

              Thanks Again!
