DVD Ripper DVD Ripper Run Extremely Slow

I recently got a new computer which runs on Windows 8.1.
My old computer which was a slower computer which ran on Windows 7. It used to rip a movie in around 1-1 1/2 hour. Now on my new computer it takes around 4 hours. Why is it so slow all of a sudden. This computer does has much more ram (8GB) as opposed to my older one (4GB). Why does it run so much slower? I have tried several DVDs and they all run this slow. BTW no other programs are running at the same time.

I have alwaly ripped to the hard drive first before converting to the MP4.

    Any answers would be helpful

The speed is determined by the CPU and/or GPU, as long as you have enough memory that's not the determining factor (usually). Give us the specs. on the new machine, include CPU and graphics.

          Graphics drivers

When you try to rip, does the system recognize your graphics card, or is it using a pure software approach to the decrypt/encode process? If it's not seeing the graphics card, you might to make sure you have the latest drivers for the graphics card installed.
