I just purchased one recently. Am I correct in assuming that the video format for the Apple TV is different than say the iPad Air? Cuz if I gotta rip all my movies again for the Apple TV, that's just gonna suck. lol..

No, they both use MP4, so you shouldn't need to re-rip. However, depending on the rip quality, what looks good on a small tablet may not look so good on a large TV, so you may find you want to re-rip at a higher bitrate.

Well I'm trying to stream my videos from my Seagate Wireless Plus over the Wi-Fi to the Apple TV. It connects, but for some reason, the video formats aren't showing up. I wanted to inquire about the video format first before I contacted Apple. I'll try your suggestion if they show up and don't look too good. Thanks.
