The exact condition to reproduce the bug: Rip 'The Maze Runner' title 220 using MKV Passthrough. Audio will go out of sync at first chapter mark 00:07:09:595.

title220 is a "Play All" extra consisting of five separate titles that are "The Making of The Maze Runner" extra on the Blu-ray disc. DVDFab reports the length of this title as 42:29, but the actual ripped file has a length of 42:26.

There are individual titles 211-215 for each section that make up "The Making of The Maze Runner".

During play back of title 220, the audio is fine for the first title (title 211), but then immediately goes out of sync once you hit the next title (title 212).

I ripped titles 211-215 as separate files, and there are no audio sync issue. The issue is only there when you rip the "Play All" title 220.

I've run into audio sync issues on other discs, but was always able run the m2ts file in the BDMV/STREAM directory through mkvmerge to get a good file. This is the first time I've found an issue like this in a "Play All" extra title, but I admit it's possible I missed it on previous disc rips.

Can you post your log file? Curious to see if this is the audio decode retry error that I've been seeing since the 6.x software came out.

I've upgraded to 9.1.8.0 and run the conversion again, audio sync issue still present.

Yeah, don't see anything obvious in the logs. Not the error that I'm seeing. I've seen audio sync issues with other movies. On one the audio was all off by a few ms, so I shifted it by remuxing the mkv. The other time, it was not matching the correct video track with the correct audio track and I had to make a few attempts via trial and error to get it sorted out.

This error condition is very specific and easy to reproduce. I hope the dev team can sort it out. The fix may lead to solutions for other audio sync issues people are seeing.

I've just started ripping my collection, and I'm seeing the small millisecond sync issues also. It seems to be most apparent at the end of the movie, like the audio is slowly going out of sync.

So, I just installed an evaluation copy of MakeMKV and ripped The Maze Runner Title 220 again, and guess what, no sync issue!!!

So, there's the challenge to the DVDfab team: Don't let MakeMKV beat you - fix this bug!!

Yeah, the sync issue likely occurs during transcoding which the other program doesn't do.

I ran into the same issues as well with the audio_decode_error. Always occurred during transcoding if I ripped with Fab or your other program then used Fab for transcode only.

Maybe try the 9.1.5.x versions if you can get a hold of the old binaries. That's what I've been doing for the time being while I await a fix (been a few months now since I first reported it... no idea if it's actually in work or not).

I'm using MKV Passthrough, so there's no transcoding going on in DVDFab.

If I had to guess, I'd say this audio sync issue is related to ripping a title with multiple M2TS files. But it's clearly more than that, as I've seen DVDFab work without issue in this case.
