Howdy, Sorry about the newbie question but after searching through the forums I couldn't find the answer to this. If someone knows of a thread that discusses it please let me know.
I decided to rip my dvd collection to a hard drive so that I can watch movies on all my tvs with no dvds. Plus I can take a thumbdrive down to the lake and not scratch/lose disks. After lots of research I purchased DvdFab DvdtoDvd and DvdtoMobile.
Up til now I have always used DvdDecrypter and ripped a .vob then used autogk to convert to a xvid at 1.4 gb. These played well through playon. The only problem was that in every movie there seemed to be a 10 second portion where the sound would be distorted. It would go away and things went on perfectly from there. It got to be too annoying.
The problem I am having with DvdFab may just happen to be with the first movie I am trying. I am currently trying to use the DvDtoMobile on Jennifer's Body. In my settings I set my max file size to 1.75 Gbs, Frame Resolution at 848X462, Audio Same as source, and device as generic and generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy, Encoding High Quality 2 pass, and did not touch anything else. The movie should be 1:42:16 in length. After I ran the program and it converted the movie to a avi I ran it to see the results. Picture wise and sound, it was perfect. The problem was it now showed the length as about 2 and a half hours long. I watch it and it would get about 20 minutes into the movie and then skip back about 5 minutes and play the same section. Then continue on and skip back every so often.
Anyone happen to know what I am doing wrong? Am I setting something wrong or does it just happen to be this movie?
