Is the problem the program, the set-top player or the user or a little or each?

Out of interest, are you backing-up PAL or NTSC (MPEG-2) DVD's?

The issue I am having is that when I rip a DVD to MKV Passthrough, the OPPO 103D takes 2-4 minutes to recognize the file via USB. By recognize, I mean the flash drive light is constantly showing it is reading the file and when it is complete, the player displays the resolution and length of the movie. If I use the remote to play the file, it takes another few minutes for the file to load and play. I always thought the files were bad, the unit was hung up so I would reboot the OPPO.

What really makes this annoying is that if I have an MKV Passthrough on my flash drive, I can't scroll through a list as it hangs 2-4 minutes on that file. I suppose I could put those files in individual folders but it would still take many minutes to play the movie once the folder is opened. Until I can get this to work, I am using the MKV profile with 2 pass encoding. The process takes about 7 minutes for the basic movie so it's not earth shattering.

MKV Passthrough works great on Blu-ray. I have virtually instant recognition of the file and it loads instantly. My only issue is with MKV Passthrough on DVDs. My OPPO firmware is up to date (there is a beta firmware but no indication it would address this issue). Any ideas?

    Thanks-Jeffie
