Passthrough VOB to AVI

I converted many of my DVDs using the DVD to Mobile passthrough VOB setting for use on my WDTV box. While the WDTV will play a VOB file, it will stall several times during playback. Following advice from this forum, I am now ripping my DVDs to my HD then converting to AVI which works well. Is there a way to convert my previous DVDFab generated VOB files to AVI and maintain the 5.1 audio?

You could use File to Mobile but would not suggest it as it is not as controllable as the audio & other stream info is not held in the VOB's but held in the IFO files which are part of the overall DVD file structure.
