I have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB card.
In versions 9 & 10 when using mkv 2 pass a box comes up the first time you use it in each version of Fab saying cuda and quick sync can't be used for 2nd pass do you want to use software I check yes and in Fab settings for GPU setting for 264 video is marked software and the file converts using cuda for ist pass and I assume software for second pass.Ok now close fab version 9 or 10 and reopen convert the same disk or file again i used 2 chapters of a cloned iso on hard drive.Now the box that says you can't use cuda or Quicksync doesn't come up anymore even after a computer restart and Fab will use Cuda for both 1st and second pass (see screen shots) log files also confirm this.Also checking version 9 fab settings again shows everything set for all cuda in GPU settings.So looking at FPS in both 1st and second pass Cuda seems to be used not software.
