BD Ripper (3D Plus) Cropping Logic

How does DVDfab decide whether a 4:3 program in a 16:9 frame should be cropped? I'm seeing very inconsistent behavior while ripping Farscape from the new Bluray release. All the episodes were shot in 4:3, but encoded in a 16:9 frame. With cropping, I would expect all of them to come with a 1440x1080 resolution, but DVDfab is leaving some of them as 1920x1080.

You can manually set this if DVD fab is making choices you don't agree with. It's the icon next to the wrench like /_

It's the inconsistency that drives me crazy, it can be ripping multiple episodes from the same disc, all 4:3 and some it wil crop correctly to 1440x1080 others it leaves with black sidebars at 1920x1080.
