BD Ripper (3D Plus) Prest change does nothing? HELP!

    Hi

Purchased a 1yr license today for blu2blu and blu2mobile cost me $80 with discount :-) so here is my issue:

I use blu2mkv and I use mkv.h264.audiocopy setting. Have tried 3 different discs so far all with the same results.

I changed both presets x264.abr.fast and dxvahd.balanced in profiles2-->preset to the following below but a mediainfo prog and a media player's info option both say ref = 2 (should be 3) and mixed ref is 0 (i put true). Compare and comment please! How do I make them change and why have they not changed?

Yes I would like this. Any thoughts on why dvdfab won't process it? Also why do u ask dies it seem too much/bloated?

If so, may I propose a few changes:
aa. keyframe interval set for 240 max/24 min (trust me it works better)
bb. I wouldn't put "true" value in Turbo - this is 1-pass
cc. QPel could be "true", BTW
dd. I think you want to take another look at QuantizerCRF value, 1000 ??? I would suggest 60
ee. VBVBufferSize 50000 ??? I would suggest 0 on both VBVBuffer and VBVMaxBitrate...
Oh well, it will take long time.

Download these files to your desktop. Open DVDFab7 (in your program files) -> profiles2 -> dump profile mkv.h264.audiocopy here (override existing) -> preset (dump preset here). Before you doing this, you can edit them the way you want.
When done, open DVDFab, and in BR2MKV mode select mkv.h264.audiocopy profile. Fab will encode/decode your video by your script.

Any Q - let me know

You are saying with same results, what results?? What exactly you don't like???
Also, It would help to know following:
Do you use CUDA acceleration, What GPU do you have, What your system spec.

"You are saying with same results, what results?? What exactly you don't like???"

Thanks for your help but it still does not help the fact that the subme is set to 6 and its doing 2. ref frames to 3 and its doing 2 and other things its not registering properly. My priority is I need to know how to make these work as my preset requests. Why is what Im putting into the presets not being seen?

Thanks also for the settings you recommended, some of them will be helpful but again, my point is will I be able to use them as DVDFab isn't picking up ref frames, mixed frames and subme for example?

"Do you use CUDA acceleration, What GPU do you have, What your system spec."

            DXVA - ATI RADEON 5850, INTEL I7 860, 8GB RAM, WIN 7 X64.

"VBVBufferSize 50000 ??? I would suggest 0 on both VBVBuffer and VBVMaxBitrate"

Don't I need this setting for DXVA?

              master333,
I gave you modified profile and new preset for it along with instructions how to incorporate them into Fab. You could use them for further modifications. You didn't even look at them, yet continue to complain. I have to tell you that this is very much discourages me to provide you with any help at all.

Actually if you reread, I have never complained - I was just answering your question and I was aggravated because I kept asking the same thing and I couldn't get the answer.

I also apologise if you did feel I was whining on and complaining, I didn't mean it in the severity you think I was giving it!

Anyway, I did finally take a look at your files. They helped me greatly and I do appreciate your assistance and advice as I would never have got the solution without you.

So onto the solution which I have pasted below. I found by keeping turbo as true it would override some settings. I turned turbo to off and also tweaked so I could get a good balance of quality and speed.

I see you wrote about turbo being off but you didn't say if its on it makes other settings not work lol

Using your original preset I was getting fps = 18-30 (averaging out to mostly 18)
Using this I am getting fps = 23-37 (averaging out to mostly 27)
with turbo on I was getting fps = 48-72!!

                So thanks I'm happy indeed.
