At least they are working on it....unlike SnapStream with BeyondTV!

The last time I looked at this thread, it had been closed, now its opened again. Anyway, I sent a PM to Fengtao yesterday and this was his reply:
Yes, we are closer, new sync engine works great.

I did ask how much longer it will take until its released but he didn't say, I am still frustrated though since I have been waiting ages for these audio sync problems to be resolved but hopefully we won't have to wait much longer.

When you load the program, you must add your source file to the program by clicking add in the top right of the program, then under the Tracks, chapters and tags select the audio track. Next, select the Format specific options tab and where you see "Delay" enter the value -700. Then hit the start muxing button at the bottom and let it run. It should take terribly long.
    Hi, Jefferson:
I had a 250ms lip-lag on an AVI that I encoded from Blu-Ray (Batman Begins) but when I encoded it on a different PC (and changed from AVI to MKV), that lag went away. I suspect it was the machine switch and not the format switch that solved my problem.

The gnarly problem that we cannot fix is when lip-lag starts at 0ms, at the beginning of the file, and falls progressively out of sync as the movie goes on, to the point where the audio is sometimes 4 or 5 seconds off by the end of the movie.

So far "same as source" and "split by chapter" is the only way I've found to fix the problem. However, this leaves you with 20 or so separate MKV files per movie instead of only one.

Also, I've had trouble finding a joiner program that works well with mkv files. The one recommended to me (elsewhere) tints them green. Wolfman just doesn't have the same effect with green blood flying around.

I'm trying some AVI encodes using those same settings (so my joiner software works)...I'll post back with my results.

I'm fighting with the same problem since 1 month. I'm sure the problem is in the framerate modification. Now under test there is an italian movie, genitori e figli (it meanS parents and children), the original BD has been ripped on my hdd and then remuxed in mkv format. There are 2 different mkv files, the first one has been created by dvdfab, the second one by another common sw.
Dvdfab changes the framerate and the audio goes out of synch, the other one does nothingelse that remuxing.
Hereafter there are the analysis performed on source, targe1 and target2 by mediainfo.

Thanks to the team for fixing the error.

Ok...it's not looking good for the Matrix on my rig.

MediaInfo shows all VOBs at 29.97 (just as Southerndude stated).

An encode at 23.976 was extremely out of sync.

An encode at 29.97 was out by about 1 second at the end of the file.

I'm encoding now at "same as source" but I expect that the same problem will result.

As discussed on the first few pages of the thread, it looks like DVDFab has a problem dealing with 29.97fps video (either with the fps math or with a hard-coded fps rate that is not 29.97).

If "same as source" fails, I will try "split by chapter" and report back.

    Me too...

I have had issues ripping movies to xvid for a while.
Today I tried wall-E to h264 (ipad) and had sound issues on there too.

I'm ripping it in Handbrake on my laptop and will see if the results are any different.

When that's done I'll try the suggestion of ripping to the hard drive first, validating audio then converting to see if it's related to layer break.

Mostly I just wanted to add a +1 to this thread so that the developers know - hopefully there is a software fix for it soon.

Mission to mars is a movie that goes out of sync.

I believe vts_05_1 is the start of the main movie, media info shows 23.976
    same for vts_05_2 through vts_05_6, all 23.976
vts_05_0 shows 29.970 but thats not part of the movie is it?
Does DVDFab read every file as it runs or does it read one file somewhere and then assume every file is the same?

who knows! Without more information from DVDFab we are just speculating. I'm sure they have people providing them with all the information they need to troubleshoot this problem if not I'd like to volunteer.

I'm not seeing this issue but all my DVD's are PAL (25fps) but reading this thread I did wonder if the audio started to go out of sync when FAB changed to another VOB file in the encoding process.

An experiment would be to RIP a DVD using FAB, then run it through DVD Shrink but telling Shrink to create a single VOB. Then you could run it through the FAB's DVD to Mobile and see if you get the same result.
