Hi,
Please excuse the naive question, but I have been using DVDFab to convert DVDs to run on my PSP for quite a few years now. I recently bought an Android-based phone (G2 Touch, aka HTC Hero) and I thought that the MP4 files I had the for the PSP would work on the Android, but all I get is a bright green screen when I play them.
In another Forum topic here on DVDFab someone posted a profile for Android video encoding and that works a treat. What's more, any resulting MP4 files will run both on the Android *and* the PSP, which is great.
However, I have a large collection of MP4s that I'd rather not have to rip again from the DVDs. I suspect that it's the difference in the bitrates that is causing the incompatibility (PSP starts on 768 kbs and has a maximum allowed of 4000, whilst the Android only has 590 kbs which is also the maximum).
Does anyone know if re-encoding the MP4 files I already have (presumably using the File to Mobile option in DVDFab) to lower the bitrate would work, or is re-encoding an MP4 to MP4 again just asking for trouble? It would be great to have my entire collection work on the PSP and the phone!
Any pointers, tips etc. much appreciated!
