BD Ripper (3D Plus) Bluray to AVI Fail - Movies Partly Converted

I've been trying to convert Blurays to AVI files without success. Only about 30 minutes of a bluray appear in the AVI file after conversion using Bluray to Mobile.

I have had similar results with The Fall, Ice Age 3, Journey to the Centre of the Earth and Mummy 3 - but Fanatastic Four 3 (Full screen version) converted from Bluray to AVI without a problem.

As suggested in another thread, I loaded a bluray to my HD by creating an ISO image and then tried using that ISO to transfer the movie to AVI. The result is the same, only about 36 minutes of the movie appear in the AVI folder.

    Here's the log:

In a mids of a process Fab re-selecting the same source (see below). It's a bit strange:

Do you have PathPlaye on or off? Please play with it. Try to turn it off... don't forget to restart DVDFab after turning it off (or on).

Actually, I disabled Play Path prior to this conversion attempt. I noted that suggestion in another thread and disabled it yesterday.

Update- this suprised me, the file listing shows the AVI file as being 1:57:06 in length, but when I actually play it, it ends after about 34 minutes...

And you did tried with 7.0.5.8 and PathPlayer on? Correct?
          If not, try it.

Just finished trying again with 7.0.5.8 and Path Player enabled. Same result.

Ok, here a couple of clips of "tree view" on each of the AVI file and the Bluray source. Let me know if there are other parts of these reports you need to see.

                      joeclarke,
I have to admit that you puzzled not only me, but few others too. I have never seen anything like that, when MediaInfo shows size of total movie and file at 6 Gig, two streams 2 Gig total and 4 Gig vanished. However, after discussion with knowledgeable people, I want to ask you to do me a favor. Can you please do your conversion one more time, not to AVI but MKV (using mkv.h264.audiocopy option) and show MediaInfo. We suspect that AVI container might be a problem. Also, make sure that your HDDs are not FAT32 formatted.

You are right, seems to be a container issue, MKV rather than AVI solves the problem.

Here's the MediaInfo, let me know if you'd like to see more.

                        Thanks!

If you are desperate to have it and AVI, you can re-package it into AVI container using "File to Mobile" mode ->AVI -> settings of your choice. AVI should take your content from MKV much smoother.

Hey guys, I've got more or less the same issue. Tried converting Transformers to an AVI, and I can play about 30 minutes of video, then it stops.

Odd thing is that the file is about 6GB in size and reports a runtime of 2 hours something.

I'm not really keen on using the MKV container, so would packaging this up into an MP4 fix this problem (obviously will try this tonight anyways, but thought I'd ask).

And also - would the file size have anything to do with the container? If I go a lower bitrate, and say, create a file about 4GB, do you think it would run with an AVI container then?

(EDIT: Just realised DivX has a download that puts in MKV support in Windows 7 more or less as tight as the DivX and other codecs, so will give this format a try. Haven't done anything big with it before, but will give it a shot).

Yeah, file size would definitely have a LOT to do with it.

I think from memory the OpenDML specs for AVI's is somewhere around 2Gb max and this would tie in with you only being able to play 20mins or so.
