export to iPad, file bigger after conversion

I have made my first test of converting an avi file :
    Video: Xvid 624x352 29.97fps 1021Kbps [Video 0 ()]
    Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 48000Hz stereo 125Kbps [Audio 1 ()]
    Video resollution: 624 x 352 (Aspect ratio 39:22)
    Time length: 01:24:15
    Filesize: 700MB (734103552 bytes)

to iPad profile, DVDFab did it, but the file result is 1.2 Gb !
    see below
    Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 600x338 29.00fps [VideoHandler]
    Audio: AAC 48000Hz stereo [SoundHandler]
    Video resollution: 600 x 338 (Aspect ratio 300:169)
    Time length: 01:24:15
    Filesize: 1252MB (1313541979 bytes)

It is quite annoying for iPad as it has a much more limited space ( I have the cheapest one )
Do you need help to reproduce the problem, I will check the behaviour with competitor and let you know, unless you have a suggestion

It seems bitrate were set much higher than original, you may want to check into it.
