DVD Ripper Trying to go a little faster

Well first off, like to thank the people who made this program this is the first one in the past week or so of searching that works.

1st, i'm trying to make my DvD to Mobile generic, copy a bit faster with some pretty good quality. Right now I'm just at the normal settings that come with the program and it takes a 1h 30ish min movie. Ruffly an hour to copy over this way. Is there any decent setting that could speed this process up and get the sameish quality.

2nd, after i copy this way can i take the files i have already copyed and convert them in one simple step over into something that i want to like a WMA file into a MP4 file with no hassle or issues?

Thanks again, and hopefully this program can get my i dunno, 300ish movie collection backed up by next friday because after that its off to Afgan again! YAY!

The only way to speed it up is get better hardware or drop the quality significantly.

does the file size matter? What will they be played back on? All Mobile conversions take time so if you want quick results and not mind a larger size then you could do Main Movie as iso for playback

no, the size doesn't matter at this moment. The most important thing is to get them done.. Were do i go for that? There going to be played off a seperate Hard Drive, the two formats there going to be played off of is my Labtop, and prob a Xbox. but as i said the most important thing to me right now is to just get them done.

Well Xbox not play iso but that is the quickest way to do it and can be played using laptop. All you need is a virtual drive which DVDFab has for free located in this link> for how to get iso check out the attachment. Should take about 10 to 15 minutes or less for each main movie iso

Cool beans, running a test now to see how its going to work. If i get this up and running i'll be quite happy 1h vs 15 mins. So we'll see, thanks for the help and will post more on here if more help is needed.

Sorry so many questions, I am a moron to this it seems. It made the Picture, very small. Is there a way to make it a decent size useing the Main Movie. I'm looking at the moment trying to figure it out. I used a 4:3 before these are useing a 16:9 is that the issue or did i just mess up?

not sure what you mean as main movie does not change anything to the movie as it an exact copy of just movie. Are you using the original DVD and what you mean the picture is small? Did you use DVDFab virtual drive to mount before playing back?

Yes, its the OC of the movie. I did the whole iso thing, and yes i forgot to mount. After being in with the mount, it doesn't give me a file to mount in the folder. So i guess it didn't save as an .iso file. And when i mean small, lets see.. Take your index finger and thumbs and make a box, it copyed the movie about that size lmao! I'm running tests as i ask questions to. I think honestly its just the media player.

Ok after testing a few things. I beleave it was the Media player. I used FinalMediaplayer and it worked just fine no big issues. So i'm guessing its set there on that issue.

Do you have any clues as to why it broke it up into 5 parts or is that the OS not letting me have any files at such and such size? If thats the case do you know how to change that so that it makes it all one file? Or is that some re-writeing i would have to do with Vista its self? Once again sorry for so many questions. I never got taught to many things about the DVD world in the Military.

the different files sound like the hard drive you save to is in FAT format which restricts file sizes to a size less than 4gb

Ko, i'll look into that later on, i'm tired been at this all night trying to figure out everything.

The last question, I have after all this work is for the Greg who gave me the link. I followed your guide all the way through. When i tried to convert the files i downloaded useing dvd to main movie.

The 5 parts it broke it into it tells me the 5th part.. that is VTS_01_5.VOB says its unsupported but i have no issues with the rest of the VTS sections. When i use the File to Mobile... Is there some odd reason for that? Its just the very end of movie and credits.. i really just want the end of the movie haha.

Thanks for all your help tonight you 2. I really do..

OK so you are using the folder option since you are saving as VTS vob so they not iso format. Also no need for file to mobile with those as DVD to mobile is what is needed for them if you plan to convert to a mobile file. I will let GregiBoy continue with the help as he is the mobile expert here and I am still learning with the mobile
